thefullnessofthefaith: Today it is the feast of Candlemas, or the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. It marks both Jesus’ first visit to the temple in Jerusalem and Mary’s purification, 40 days after the birth of her son. The latter was an ancient Jewish custom ——- Mary never referred to obedience as bondage. When you know and love the Lord you know what He has set in place is out of love and for your good. His ways are not our ways. When you know Him and love Him obedience is freeing, a joy, an honor.
